Turbinate Reduction

At the sinus and allergy center if you have enlarged turbinates, you may be placed on a nasal steroid and have your allergies managed (allergy testing, antihistamine, and immunotherapy) to reduce your turbinates medically. If your turbinates persistently cause nasal obstruction, you may be a candidate for reducing the size of the turbinates surgically called turbinate reduction. Since the turbinates moisten the nasal cavity, Dr. Pasha does not remove the entire turbinate but instead does a partial turbinate reduction. This technique usually preserves the function of the turbinate reducing nasal crusting.
