What is a Deviated Nasal Septum?

When the nasal septum does not align in the middle of the nose it is called a Deviated Nasal Septum. Almost everyone naturally has some curvature or crookedness to their septum. A certain amount of bending is acceptable. If the septum is too deviated it may cause nasal blockage or recurrent sinus problems. A common cause of a deviated nasal septum is from trauma (broken nose) in the past.
